Ollie our Magic Elf is set to arrive December 12th. He would love for you to join him on the Elfcapades here on IC. Magic Elf Johnny needs a home. Who would like to adopt him?
We we started our Countdown to Christmas this week. If you missed my Dollar Store Advent Calendar click here. My 4 year old is just old enough to enjoy the daily treat and activity as a family. My almost two year old…well…she is old enough to enjoy the treat.:-) Do you do an Advent Calendar or Countdown to Christmas? I would love to hear your ideas. Here is our list.
1. Write a letter to Santa asking to send Ollie
2. Have hot chocolate with all the fixings
3. Dessert before dinner
4. Make Christmas cards for family members
5. Make snow slushies
6. Go out for dinner
7. Have an indoor picnic
8. Make sugar cookies
9. Use puppets to tell bedtime story
10. Have breakfast for dinner
11. Make salt dough ornaments
12. Ollie arrives at our house
13. Take funny face pictures
14. Call Grandparents and sing Christmas songs.
15. Do a Christmas craft
16. Make handmade gift tags for relatives
17. Make salt dough ornaments
18. Annual gingerbread house contest with our life group
19. Do a praise party in our living room
20. Watch a Christmas movie with popcorn
21. Go out for a special dessert
22. Drive around and look at Christmas lights
23. Have a bubble bath
24. Read the Christmas story together
So for day 1 we wrote Santa and asked him to send Ollie again to our house. Ollie is one of Santa’s Elves that comes to visit and does zany things around our house and reminds us of the true meaning of Christmas.
If you missed the Elfcapades last year on IC click here to read about Ollie’s adventures. Ollie helps us keeps the magic of Christmas alive in our home.
Ollie will arrive in our home on 12th. If you want to join the Elfcapades with me all you have to do is buy a travel ticket and Santa will send you your own elf. You can even request a boy or a girl elf.
Santa has an abundance of elves that have finished their toy-making duties early. He is willing to foot the bill for the travel ticket for one IC reader. Blonde haired Johnny needs a home. Who wants a Magic Elf?
For a chance to adopt Johnny into your home this holiday…

AHHHHHH!!! I'm the first. I want one!!
OUr tradition by the way is having appetizers on the floor Christmas eve and opening one present. I am sure this elf could help gear up my four kiddos.
So cute! I read the tradition and I so want in on this tradition for my kids.

We've kind of fallen into the tradition of decorating gingerbread houses every year and the kids really love it.
I have been looking for this for a while now! Thanks for the story and the chance to have a little elf magic in our home!

One of our favorite holiday traditions is our annual Candy Cane Hunt. Each child is given a specific color of candy canes to find. The candy canes are hidden out in the yard (the older you are the harder it is to find them!) along with 1 big peppermint stick. We search until they are all found and then come in for canes and cocoa-the finder of the pepermint stick gets to open the first present on Christmas Eve! I hope we do this forever!

I read the elf magic page…
We have a gifts for Jesus box where we write notes of kind things we do through the month and read on Christmas morning. My kids LOVE it!
We have an annual Bronner's shopping trip (Bronner's is the largest Christmas store in the world-open year round) where each family member picks out a new ornament for the tree. When the kids get big and move out they get to take they're "lifetime" of ornaments with them so their first Christmas tree isn't bare and each one will bring back memories.
I read the elf magic tradition- love it! Sounds like so much fun! And Elf Johnny would be perfect for us (my oldest son is the 6th "John" in a row for my husband's family) 🙂
I'm a new Elf Magic fb fan
My personal Christmas tradition is to watch It's a Wonderful Life on Christmas eve, but I haven't yet been able to get the husband, 3 yr old, or 18 month old interested 🙂 this year I want to start a tradition of making ornaments that somehow incorporate the kids handprints.
OK, I love the Elf story. I love that they focus on old-fashioned Christmas fun that doesn't take away from the real reason we celebrate!
Weren't we just talking about the elves 2 days ago? We'd love an elf for our home! I've read the story, visited the site more than once and just haven't ordered yet, but it's still on my list of things to get!
I love Christmas traditions and can't wait to start more with my new growing family! We do the traditional things now, tree up on black friday, advent, cookie baking day, new ornament for the year, etc. One of my favorites that we have carried on since my childhood is a Polish tradition passed on through my family. We break Oplatki (like breaking bread) and give everyone with us blessings and wishes for the following year.
I love to have one
So cute! We love to start this tradition with my children!

My favorite Christmas tradition is driving around and seeing all the lights and displays. Not nearly enough people decorate as much as they use to. Its a pity!
I read the Elf Magic page
I think my kids would love one of these. I have a friend that's been posting pictures of their Elf on FB and their Elf made a "snow angel" in sugar on the counter. Super cute.
I think for the family activity I would like to make salt dough ornaments or sugar cookies. 🙂
I just read the "Elf Magic Tradition." I had never heard of it before, but it sounds like something really fun to implement with our kids!

My children are infants, but I can't wait for them to help me decorate the tree! It's my favorite activity, so I'm sure it will be even MORE fun (if that's possible) with little helping hands!

Thanks for filling me in on the Elf Magic Tradition. Our family has been missing out. We'd love one of our very own.
Love Ollie and all his adventures last year. Especially the fan episode. We have several traditions in our family around Christmas time. Advents, nativities, lights this would be a fun addition with the grandkids.
This sounds like fun! I love the story ;o)
We always drive around after Christmas mass and look at all the Christmas light displays. It's usually snowing just a little bit, so it's pretty magical.
read it 🙂 and loved it! we have been trying to think of a full tradition to start with our 2 year old

I read the store. How sweet. I would love to have this little elf. We are starting some great traditions with the three 5 year old children that we adopted. They are very magical this Christmas. I think this would be a wonderful part to our family traditions.

I absolutely loved reading this story 😀 I was excited to see what kind of havoc ollie would cause 😀 I think this would be an awesome addition to our traditions.

My babies are still young, but this year we are starting a new tradition, making Gingerbread Nativity sets. I bought the kit earlier in the year, and can't wait to use it!
I read the tradition, and am copying your ideas right now! I LOVE how you told about the story of CHRISTmas! It's so important! We are giving only 3 presents for each kid this year and years to come, because Jesus received 3 gifts from the 3 wisemen!
I read the elf magic tradition. It sounds like fun!

My family is German, so my favorite tradition was celebrating St. Nicholas Day on December 6th. I'll definitely carry on the tradition with my kids.
