With Halloween behind me and Thanksgiving and Christmas right around the corner, I can’t help but think of how much I’d like to have a beautiful dining room to host holiday gatherings. While gathering inspiration, I spotted this rustic/eclectic dining space with interesting woodwork and pretty colors. House of Turquoise featured this room from a home decorated by Four Chairs Furniture and photographed by Hiya Papaya Photography. Check out the five tutorials I found to get this look for less:
I’ve got fireplaces and mantels on my brain this week. I spotted this kitchen vignette at Liz Marie Blog.  I don’t usually go for a very rustic look, but something about this kitchen made me take a second glance.  I think it would be perfect in a little cottage tucked away in the trees near a lake….or on a sandy beach somewhere.  It’s a kitchen that says, “Stay a while,” isn’t it?
Well, if this is a look that you love, I have good new for you! Â You don’t have to pay the price of waterfront property to get a kitchen like this one. Â It’s possible to turn the kitchen you have into one that looks a lot like this. Â It doesn’t take a big remodel, either–the rustic feel of this kitchen comes from the accessories just as much as it does from the structural elements.
I absolutely LOOOOVE this rustic backed bookshelf from Karianne at Thistlewood Farms. Why is it that Karianne makes the simplest projects that have huge wow factor. Where I, on the other hand, make something, and by the time my supply list is done I have lost you? She is brilliant – that is why! And I like to overcomplicate the crap out of everything. The wood against the stark white is simply stunning and I think one look at this and I am going to do the exact same thing with on of my shelves. Thanks for the inspiration.
I scored some free fencing off of Craigslist earlier this year. I have been using some of it for backdrops…
