A few weeks back I got to participate in the Warrior Dash in Indiana. The Warrior Dash boasts on their website that “The Warrior Dash is the obstacle course race that anyone can start and everyone can finish.” You go at your own pace and it is a 5k with 12 crazy obstacles courses. The one I participated in was in Indiana and it had poured the night before so it was super slippery and muddy. It kind of felt like I was running in ice skates the whole time. Delta sponsored the shower station at the end and invited me to participate in the event. I think they were the most popular vendor there. OMG there was no way you came out of that course not covered in mud. I don’t think I have ever wanted a shower more in my life.
It is awesome the camaraderie of an event like that. I participated in it alone but everyone around me was helpful giving me a push (literally!) up a hill when I needed it or encouraging me through the whole thing.
It was a crazy experience. I have done a couple of 200 mile relay races before but the Warrior Dash was nothing like that. Jumping over fire, crawling under barbed wire in a mud pit, climbing a wall as tall as a barn, and balancing on a beam squirting you with water that was already so slippery.
If you want to create an awesome memory with a group of friends (co-workers, family, or a group of friends) this would be such a fun time. You really don’t need to even train for it. I will admit I haven’t ran a mile in months and made it through unscathed. It is just a fun challenge that is more about memories and muck than setting any PR for the course.
So I started out excited, clean and ready to go.
And ended like this…
Nothing like showering with hundreds of muddy friends. They set up a bunch of showers using the new Delta H2Okinetic® showerheads. They sent me home with one and I upgraded my kid’s bathroom.
My master bathroom has a dual showerhead with a detachable hand shower as well so my kids always use our bathroom. Now with this new Delta H2Okinetic® showerhead they are using their own shower. I will say it is so nice to have a pull down shower option for getting soap out of little girl’s hair, washing the dog, etc.
