I decided to turn my vintage Coca-cola crate into a shelf to create a little succulent garden in my kitchen.
It was a pretty simple project:
1. I used scrap wood.
2. I attached hangers to the back.
3. I used a hand saw to cut the wood to fit. I used a little wood glue and nailed the supports on the side; and then I slid the shelves into place and stained them.
Once it was all dry I hung it on the wall and screwed one screw through the middle for extra support and to keep it completely flush to the wall.
And then my favorite part was grabbing a bunch of little containers I already had on hand to plant a sweet little succulent garden.
I mainly used votive holders – some I spray painted gold and some white. I used black acrylic paint to hand paint black stripes on the white ones. The horse glasses and silver containers are vintage finds from a few months ago. And the cute little gnome I bought at Target. It was a white garden stake that I spray painted gold.
I love easy DIY projects that you can complete in less than an hour, don’t you? My vintage soda crate succulent garden is a happy addition to my kitchen breakfast area.
