Accepting what is happening or has happened simply means accepting that it is happening or has happened even if your egoic self is not pleased with it.

Interestingly, acceptance and resistance can occur simultaneously within you.

Your egoic self, through the flow of thoughts, may be resisting and complaining about what it doesn’t like.

But let it be.

No matter what your flow of thoughts is spewing or thinking, because you know that the self that resists life is imaginary.

You are actually the one in touch with the deepest truth about life: everything is unfolding as it should.

Much of the pain in life comes from resistance, anger, fear, and sadness that arise from one’s attitude about what is happening, not from the events themselves.

The unpleasant feelings that often accompany so-called “bad things” make things feel much worse than they should.

People cause their own suffering without even realizing their role in it.
