  1. I am interested in owning a Silhouette for doing my own vinyl letters and of course all the other neat, crafty stuff I can do with one, but I am confused. Is a Cricut different? If I am a newbie to this, what is the best machine to start with? What would you purchase if you were just starting to use one? I appreciate any input!! Thanks!

  2. I would definitely recommend a Silhouette over a Cricut. While they are both cutting machines, a Silhouette is far superior in my opinion. Check out this post where I talk a little about the difference between a Silhouette and Cricut. I hope this helps and please let me know if you have any more questions.

  3. Hi Sonja, I did a little research when I was interested in a cutting machine and almost everyone says they’d rather have a silhouette cameo over the Cricut because A. It cuts neater with fewer if any tears and B. because you dont have to buy cartridges which everyone say is expensive.

I’m sad i just found this article today, I remember back on black friday I checked Walmart’s website to see if they had the cameo on sale but all of theirs were well over $200, same for ebay to. I never occurred to me to check out the manufacturer website -.- so I got it stuck in my head that if i wanted one, I was just gonna have to shell out $279 ( i wanted the bundle package) for christmas. Yesterday I go to check out the price on Amazon to tell my mother and I see the silhouette cameo machine + starter kit for $194.99….i almost died lol since I didn’t know how long it would last i jumped…no, LEAPED on that deal! The original price was $349.99!!! Still I wish I knew it was on the website maybe I could have used the coupon 😉 Anyway, Now i’m so excited to get it, so glad I decided I wanted one now rather than later. By the way, absolutely love your blog
