Well the weekend didn’t start like I had expected – two cancellations and everyone else except one arrived late. But I was grateful they all came and made the sacrifice and drive. We started with Lindsay (the cute blonde) and I going to Outback Steakhouse for dinner. I got a gift card for my birthday and it was burning a hole in my pocket 😉 We started a craft project and then Karen arrived and she started as well. These are definitely the three crafters in the bunch this weekend. We made Crayon Batik Mirrors. I saw the idea on Craft Lab on HGTV. I loved how they turned out. For a complete tutorial click here.

We stayed up until 1 a.m. crafting and chatting. This pregnant lady must have had a burst of crafting energy because I didn’t even seem tired and woke up the next morning at 8:30 a.m. all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed.

  1. Oh I have those mirrors and have been wondering what to do with them. That project looks a bit complicated though. Just the supply list was a mile long 🙂

Glad you had a good time despite the bumps in the road.

  2. You have a “Xyron cold laminate machine with permanent adhesive cartridge”??!! Uh… I dream of something like that… sigh.

These mirrors are beautiful… sigh. Oh well.

  3. Sooooooo puuuuurty…. That was a lot of fun.

Did I mention I hate chicago? It added an hr to my drive home today. An HOUR I spent creeping along going 5mph. So ridiculous. I was a sweaty premenstrual basket case for my husband to deal with when i got home… I was making such GREAT time until. GRRRRRr

  4. I think your mirrors came out cuter than the ones Traci and I made on the show 🙂

  5. I was going to say they were prettier than the ones on the show, so I’m glad that Jennifer said it first.

I’ll have to find some time to try this. My daughter has a Xyron lost somewhere, so I may have to try just gluing the strips down instead if we can’t find it.

  6. I want one.

    Speaking of wants…
    Where’s your annual birthday list?

See how I love you? I don’t forget these things, Rebecca Marie!

  7. Oh honey! I am soooo glad it turned out to be a good weekend!

Looks like all the cousins and sistas really enjoyed themselves. At least from the pictures…..(hehehehe 🙂 )

BTW…..it was so good to spend time with my family in Indylast week. Kisses to the three of you. ***
