Do you still have last minute holiday parties? Do the kids need a cute shirt to wear to school for their Christmas party? This is a quick easy project that will take you all of about 20 minutes. Add some rolled flower hair cuties and you got a decked out peppermint pretty! So bust out your sewing machine and make a quick, easy Christmas shirt.
Supplies:
Red and White Striped Cotton Fabric
White shirt
Scissors
Sewing Machine
Thread
Pins
1. Cut a 1” by 45” piece of striped red and white fabric. I got mine at Hobby Lobby for $.58 for a 6 inch piece.
2. Sew a long basting stitch (the longest width stitch on your machine). Pull the top thread to get it to ruffle. Keep pulling the top thread until it all ruffles evenly.
3. Starting at the bottom and working your way up pin the ruffled fabric in place the shape of a candy cane. Then sew down the middle on the same stitch you ruffled the fabric with pulling the pins out as you go.
4. Cut off the end when you are done sewing.
I also made some fabric rolled rosettes that look like peppermint candies for Kayla’s hair.
