I recently made over my boys wall using some fun decals and HUGE letters. I wanted to continue by adding some storage in between the two beds.

Here’s the cart before and after.

The transformation was pretty simple. I wanted the paint to be durable so I used a bright white can of Rust-Oleum Enamel paint in a semi gloss finish and gave the entire thing a spray down. I love this stuff! It gives such a great finish! Beckie has tons of spray painting tips for you so make sure you snoop around here for those! Spray painting is the PERFECT solution for a quick makeover for less than 5 bucks. Even if you’re a expert DIYer your always going to love and appreciate a good can of spray paint.

To give it a little more detail I added a red trim using some DUCK TAPE!! I know cool right?  I was going to paint but I thought this would be a little different and a lot easier:0) I simply cut it down to size and folded it over the rounded parts of the cart. The perfect industrial touch.

  1. So cute! I love carts. I just purchased a really nice retro looking cart in white at the flea!
    Thanks for sharing.

  2. Destiny, is there a reason you choose a cart instead of a shelving type unit? Was it just for the look or for a more practical reason. Thanks!

  3. I did sort of the same thing, but with an old wood tv cart on wheels. Painted the whole thing light blue, shaded with white and put on red letters with my grandson’s name on it. On the bottom shelf, I screwed on two pull-out plastic containers for Lego’s and such. Turned out darling, looks like a blue denim treatment.
