I was in Joann Fabrics and saw some fun flannel houndstooth and plaid fabric that I thought would make a great reversible table runner for the fall season. This project is so simple. It took me about a half hour to complete.

Supplies:
14” of flannel plaid fabric
14” of flannel houndstooth fabric
rotary cutter, mat and self-healing mat
pins
sewing machine and coordinating thread
iron
1. I measured my console table (it used to be a TV!) and decided to make it 13” wide by the length of the fabric which is 44”. So I cut it 13 1/2” by 45”.
2. With right sides together I pinned it in place and sewed it with a 1/4” seam allowance leaving an opening to turn.
3. I turned it right side out and then pressed. I turned under the opening and then I top stitched around the entire runner.
The houndsooth fabric matches the bow on the Spider Halloween Wreath I made. I am not done with my Halloween vignette but here is a sneak peek.
And then I can flip the table runner over to give me a new color palette.
I love getting more mileage out of projects. I used black thread for both sides but if you wanted one color thread on one side and one on the other just switch out the bobbin thread with a different color. Just make sure it is the same kind/weight of thread.
