Neon is back in a big way (hopefully leotards and leg warmers don’t make the comeback anytime soon) so this floral paper wreath is the perfect POP to bring bold color to a space, or as a decoration for a luau, or a tween girl’s room.
Supplies:
AstroBrights papers in an array of bright colors
100 silver ball pins
18â€Â STYROFOAMâ„¢ Brand wreath
Coordinating Ribbon
1. I had a craft day with my friend Johnnie from Saved By Loved Creations who happens to be the proud owner of a Tim Holtz Vagabond Die Cut Machine. Using the “Tattered Florals†die I cut eleventy billion flowers out. It only took me about 10 minutes because I took about 6 sheets of Astrobright paper at a time, folded it in half and sent it through the machine. Mama’s got a birthday this month I think my loot is going towards this bad boy!
2. Five seconds later out popped cut gorgeous 4 layered flowers. Next I used a small stylus tool to rub the paper to create the 3D effect.
3. Then I stacked my flower shapes on top of each other from the largest to the smallest and stuck a silver ball pin through it.
4. Then I just stuck the flowered pins into my Styrofoam Brand wreath spacing out the colors to give it a nice full look. The nice part about using an actual STYROFOAM™ Brand wreath is that it has a nice flat surface which makes it easier for the flowers to lay nicely.
Currently Astrobrights is holding a contest each week in August called Make Something Astrobrights. Â So pick up some paper today and create something bright. I LOVE your wreath, Beckie! Brilliant job! I’ve never seen neons looking so pretty!
That wreath is adorable!
This looks great. I just the Sizzix Big Kick myself (Vagabond was a bit out my price range) and I picked up the tattered flowers die. This looks like alot of fun to make !!! It will be great for my daughter’s room.
Oh my goodness, isn’t that the most cunningly cute little die cut machine ever! I just love the vintage suitcase feel of it. I’m in a committed relationship with my CriCut but that little one kind of makes me want to cheat!
LOL
So cute! I’m lovin it:)
Beckie, how is this not your favorite wreath ever? I bet it is because you made it yourself. I would totally hang this on my door. What is your mom’s address?
