For the past two years or so most every morning I wake up sneezing and blowing my nose. Sometimes I get those horrific sneezes that you can’t control and take everything out of you. I will sometimes sneeze 10 times in a row, one after another. What especially sucks is when I wake to go pee at 5 a.m. My sneezing fit does not wait until 8:30 if I am up it begins. My poor husband gets woken up at whatever time my nose begins. However my allergies only last about 30 minutes and then they are gone. So I have been having a very low tolerance for this lately. So I am on a mission to figure out what in the world is making me sneeze.

Day 1: Vaccuumed my carpet, cleaned all my bedding including the mattress cover in hot water. Got an air purifier, dusted every inch of my room, took apart my fan and cleaned it.

Night 1: FAILURE, woke up at 5 a.m. to pee, let the sneezing begin. Grrrr!

Day 2 plan: Take my body pillow and head pillow into the spare room and try and sleep there tonight. This will hopefully allow me to figure out if it is a) something in my bedroom b) my pillows.

Does anyone else suffer from this? Any suggestions?

  1. I would go to the spare room w/out the pillows first. Then if you wake up not sneezing, bring the pillows in for the next night. maybe it’s the pillows??

My husband has NEVER sneezed less than 10 times in a row and sometimes he goes on for 20+. It is so weird and rather funny when he starts sneezing (at least i think so, he doesn’t find it to humorous)

  2. I dunno, Beck. Ask Scotty. I mean, for real. I pick your brain when it comes to do-it-yourself projects, so you can pick his when it comes to your cute little sneezy nose. You have that privilege, you know…since you went on our first date with us.

    Sigh…the memories…

OK, we must talk soon. About stuff. I love you!

  3. Honey………..maybe it’s the orneriness coming out of you….?

Hey! I took a stab at it, Ok? 🙂

  4. When I was living at mom’s house I had the same problem but it started in the shower. I have no idea what it was but I’m good now. It was only if I took a shower in the morning…not at night. It never happened at night. Weird huh?

  5. emma has that in the shower in the morning also – not at night! i have tried so many things – it does seem to be getting less though now that we live in a house without any carpet.

  6. Wandered over here from a link to your cute tic-tac boxes – love them! My allergist says that the body produces the most allergic response at night, so I take my allergy medicine at bedtime now, instead of in the morning and it has made a huge difference in how I feel in the morning.
