A couple of months back the local ABC affiliate came and interviewed me and it ran this week on the 5:00 news and the next day on Good Morning Indiana. I was on for over 3 minutes, which if you watch the news, know that is an eternity! And they didn’t even make me look like a dumpster divin’ freak. Bonus! I thought a few of you (my grandma, mother-in-law and sister) might want to see it.

Chevron Fabric and Sunshine Yellow Stool Makeover
So remember when I made my vintage sheet into a skirt and I told you about the auction I went to? Well this piece was one of my purchases. Sad, ugly, dilapidated, but ready to be transformed and pop next to my chalk painted sofa table. So when Michaels invited me to join in the campaign to showcase their new line of fabrics I knew it was the perfect little piece to tackle.

Sp cool–great job!
Beckie, I’ve hardly touched my computer in the last couple of days, but this post caught my eye when I logged on this afternoon. It was such fun to see your interview!! You did a great job on-camera! The reporter was obviously very impressed with you and your work–and why wouldn’t she be? Congratulations!
GOOD work, lady! Impressive … and you did a GREAT job on camera!
Woot woot! Love seeing you rollin’ through the neighborhood looking for stuff to fix up…makes me feel normal!

Congratulations! And thank you for sharing your creations. You have inspired me many times over.
Loved your interview!! So inspiring! My goals this year is to learn how to blog and
be as creative with all my “thrifty finds”. I would love to be able to work at home like
you do. Great Job!
Jenn, Thanks so much! I truly am blessed to get to do what I love! Check out my blogging series, there are some great tips in there on how to get started and how to make money 🙂
Thank you! {shy ;)}
loved the entire piece. nicely done and gave it the importance that it deserved. This is always an importantphilosophy but with the current financial most folks find themselves in it is a means of giving others hope for giving their lives more beauty. I would say it definitely ties in with being a pastor’s wife. THANK YOU
The piece was really excellent Beckie! As an FYI — the station plugged the story during 2 episodes of Judge Judy.
Hi! Its so nice to meet you, thank you for visiting, I came right back to see you!! You asked if I sell my work, I did at one time but I don’t any longer,
this was an amazing interview, I will enjoy following along on your adventures,
What a great story on your local news! I had no idea you had these 3 sites of which I am a follower…guess I don’t look at the right side too often…duh! Congrats, and I follow you religiously……. I live in Mexico, and can’t cruise the streets to find stuff like you do in Indiana (people don’t put stuff on the streets) but I always have my eyes open!
What a wonderful story! How exciting to be on the news! You are an inspiration to many many women and it is so cool that you are getting this extra attention outside of blogland. I am so happy for you. 🙂
Congrats! 🙂
You go Becky,
You are my Hero,
I wanna be like you when I grow up!
Just discovered your blog (ah..blogs…who knew?) this year & love it…I’m not a blogger, don’t have a upcycling business or anything related…I’m a voyeur reveling at your vision to see whole new uses for ordinary (sometimes broken) items that have been discarded. Your TV interview was terrific, you were so professional..didn’t come off as a ‘weird dumpster diver’ at all! I might even try to copy an idea or two. Thanks so much.
That was so fun to watch! You did an amazing job!
Congratulations, that’s awesome!! I actually looked up in a church once and saw the same lights that you made into a garbage can. I totally thought of you!!
Roberta…..Thanks! I love when people like you give me such kind words. This is what it’s all about for me!
That was a great interview Beckie! I loved getting more of a peek into your beautiful home, and it was fun to see Tim too!
Wow, you’re famous! Well, you already are, but now everyone knows. 😉 What a wonderful story about your blog and ‘career’. You look fabulous and sound fantastic. Great interview!
