I love the natural look of moss spheres… Image taken from Potterybarn.com

I was over at a friend’s house helping her with a project when I took it upon myself to redecorate her mantel she asked me to help her with her mantelscape.
She had this little vase/urn thing with nothing in it. So I took it home to give it a little makeover and to give her mantel a little more height and texture.
Dollar Store spanish moss + styrofoam ball + a hot glue gun
I was careful not to burn myself and that moss stuff makes a MESS!
After I had all the moss in place I have her a haircut…
and tied a little ribbon at the bottom to give it a little sumptin’ sumptin’.

I love moss, and I have worked with it many times. Your project turned out so nice! Lovin it!
Cute! I love moss balls. Must have more.
Adorable and do-able for even this non crafty mom!
they have moss at the dollar store?? who knew? it's really cute!
Ahhh, "height" and "texture." Two of my favorite words! I love the look of moss, it's greenery without the required "green thumb." (which I don't have…:))
That looks great!! Thanks for sharing! I may have to attempt this 🙂
Looks great. I didn't realize how easy it would be.
I to think that I bought my mossy ball. Maybe I can give mine the much needed face lift that it needs.
It turned out great!! Your friend is so lucky you took it upon yourself…I mean she asked you to redecorate!!
This looks great! I wouldn't never thought to make those myself.
BTW, we're having our first retail-sponsored give-away starting today if you're interested.
Oo la la!! I have some of that Dollar Tree moss…will give this one a whirl sometime. 🙂
This is too funny. I was cleaning my barn (full of florals, crafts, xmas) today and saw a box of styrofoam balls and thought "I need to make some moss balls!" Then I check my emails and here's your post. Too much. Thanks for the inspiration (kick in the pants 🙂
