Let’s face it, there are only a few freaky people out there that actually LIKE to clean. I am not one of them, mother-in-law is. I prefer to pawn vacuuming off on my children as an opportunity for them to learn a life skill or pad their piggy bank for a coveted toy than do it myself. I have many more other fun projects I’d rather be doing and vacuuming up breakfast crumbs is not one of them. When I do come across a clever little product that claims to improve other people’s my cleaning abilities, I’m going to jump all over that bad boy.

Hoover sent me the Air Cordless 2-in-1 Stick & Handheld Vacuum to try out. I love that this vacuum cleaner is cordless and I’m not tripping over myself or the cord. Ya’ll know what I’m talking about. Some days it’s like jumping rope with an octopus.   And those cords are never long enough. Another awesome thing about a cordless vacuum cleaner is that it can go anywhere! No electricity needed. Vacuum the outdoor rug on your patio, clean up the sand out of your tent or get all the dog hair out of the car. There are no limitations when there are no cords. Simply remove the battery pack and place it on the charger.

The Hoover Air Cordless 2-in-1 Stick & Handheld Vacuum has a great on-board handheld vacuum cleaner. I liked using this to clean out the van, but it also has a great detachable crevice tool to get in tight places. You know, to suck up those French fries that fall between the console and the driver’s seat (aka getting rid of evidence).

The cool thing about this vacuum is that it easily goes from handheld vacuum to stick vacuum. The stick vacuum instantly switches from carpet to hardwood floors with the touch of a button.

The vacuum works really well on hardwood floors. The LED lights illuminate your cleaning way and it hugs close to the wall.

But the cool thing are these little blue bristles that kind of sweep against the wall as you vacuum. Cobweb catcher, perhaps?

The vacuum did really well on hardwood floors, but I didn’t find it as effective on wall-to-wall carpeting. It just didn’t seem to have enough suction power.  It is fine for quick clean ups but definitely isn’t what I would use to vacuum my carpet.  That being said, it did do well on area rugs that have a low pile. You know, those small rugs that are too light for heavy duty vacuum cleaners and get sucked up in them.  That’s fun. Not.

The Hoover vacuum offers easy debris disposal. Simply remove the cup and filter and dump.

Another nifty feature of the Hoover Air is the easy removable plate on the bottom. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve sucked up those short little phone charging cords. I swear you think you’re a foot away and suddenly they are sucked up in the vacuum!

All in all the Hoover Air Cordless 2-in-1 Stick & Handheld Vacuum is a great vacuum for little jobs and small areas. And small people who vacuum in my house.
