Hentai Manga (1)

I didn’t. And it has been a bit of a shock to be honest. I was born in the 70s and all I knew about manga was Pokemon, Naruto and Dragon Ball. But never heard of this until recently. Hentai Manga: Do you know what this is?

Manga, as we know it today, originated in the late 19th and early 20th centuries in Japan. The term “manga” was popularized during this time, and artists like Osamu Tezuka played a pivotal role in shaping its modern form. Since then, manga has grown into a diverse and influential medium, becoming a global phenomenon with a wide range of genres and styles. Its roots can be traced back to earlier forms of Japanese visual storytelling, but its development into the recognizable manga format occurred in the 20th century.

Manga

At first, when my daughter mentioned it, I just thought of it like a japanese cartoon and that’s it. In fact, once she showed me some series about teenagers going to University and everything seemed quite normal to me (it turns out that was Anime).

Well, apparently there is much more to it and, perhaps, if you are like me completely oblivious  of it, you might get a little shock so keep reading.

What is Manga?

Manga is a style of comic books or graphic novels that originated in Japan and has become popular worldwide. It is a form of storytelling that combines both art and text to convey narratives. It covers a wide range of genres and appeals to a broad audience, including children, teenagers, and adults.

Here are some key characteristics and features of adult manga:

Artistic Style:

Manga is known for its distinctive art style, which often features characters with large, expressive eyes, exaggerated facial expressions, and detailed backgrounds. The art style can vary greatly from one manga series to another, depending on the artist’s style and the genre of the manga.

Black-and-White:

Most manga is published in black-and-white, although there are colored manga as well. This black-and-white format allows for a more efficient and cost-effective production.

Right-to-Left Reading:

Traditionally, manga is read from right to left, which is the opposite direction of Western comics. This means that you start reading from the upper right corner and move to the left and down the page. This format preserves the original layout of the artwork and text in Japanese manga.

Diverse Genres:

Manga covers a wide range of genres, including but not limited to shonen (targeted at young boys), shojo (targeted at young girls), seinen (targeted at adult men), and josei (targeted at adult women). There are manga genres for virtually every interest, including action, romance, fantasy, science fiction, horror, sports, slice of life, and more.

Serialized Format:

Many manga series are first published as serialized stories in manga magazines. Chapters are released periodically, and once a story arc is complete, it is often compiled into volumes or tankobon, which are collected editions.

Cultural and Artistic Significance:

Manga is a significant part of Japanese pop culture and has had a substantial influence on art, literature, and entertainment worldwide. Some manga series have been adapted into anime (animated TV shows or movies), live-action films, and other forms of media.

Manga has a broad and dedicated fan base both in Japan and internationally. It offers a diverse range of stories and experiences, making it a versatile medium for storytelling and artistic expression. Whether you’re interested in action-packed adventures, heartfelt romances, thought-provoking dramas, or any other genre, there’s likely a manga series that will cater to your interests.

Is Manga the same as Anime?

No, they are related but distinct forms of entertainment, both originating from Japan:

Manga:

Manga refers to Japanese comic books or graphic novels. It consists of illustrated panels and text and is typically black-and-white, although there are colored manga as well. Manga is often the source material for anime adaptations. It allows readers to engage with the story at their own pace, using their imagination to interpret the characters and scenes. Manga covers a wide range of genres and caters to various age groups.

Anime:

It refers to animated TV shows, movies, and series that originate in Japan but can be enjoyed by audiences worldwide. Anime can be adaptations of manga, light novels, video games, or original creations. It brings the story to life with animation, voice acting, music, and sound effects. Anime allows for dynamic visuals and can have a different impact compared to manga due to its audiovisual elements.

While manga and anime often share the same source material, they can also have distinct differences. Adaptations may vary in terms of pacing, character design, and how they handle certain plot points.

Some fans prefer one medium over the other, while others enjoy both manga and anime for different reasons. Ultimately, whether you choose to read the manga or watch the anime adaptation depends on your personal preferences for storytelling and visual presentation.

Hentai Manga

What is Hentai Manga?

Here’s when the tricky bit begins…

Hentai manga is a genre of Japanese erotic comics or manga that often features explicit sexual content and graphic depictions of sexual acts. It is a subset of the wider manga and anime culture in Japan, but it is distinct in its focus on explicit and often taboo sexual themes

Hentai manga can cover a wide range of sexual fantasies and fetishes and may include various genres, such as romance, fantasy, science fiction, and more.

It’s important to note that hentai manga is intended for adults (they’re basically porn comics) and is typically not suitable for minors or those who are not interested in explicit sexual content. In Japan, the production and distribution of hentai manga are subject to legal regulations, and it is often designated as “18+” or “adults only.”

While hentai manga is a niche genre, it has gained some popularity outside of Japan, primarily among fans of manga and anime with an interest in adult content. However, its explicit nature means that it is not widely discussed or accepted in mainstream circles.

So…what is a teenager doing watching this Hentai manga? Great question, right?

We, as parents and guardians should be aware of the content our children are consuming and take steps to ensure that they are not exposed to inappropriate material. It’s important to consider age-appropriate content and media for children and teenagers and to educate them about responsible and safe internet use.

Additionally, online platforms and websites that host hentai manga may have their own policies regarding age restrictions and content filters, so parents and guardians should take advantage of such features to protect their children from explicit material.

However, unfortunately there are xxx galleries and websites where with a free account, anyone can access uncensored hentai and free hentai manga.

My advice is to google them “most popular free hentai sites” and just block the access to them and downloads at home (I did that following these instructions).

But there’s more…

Manga and Anime

What is Doujinshi?

Also known as “doujin”, refers to self-published works, often created by fans and enthusiasts in Japan, which can include comics, novels, or magazines. These fan-made creations typically focus on existing popular media like manga, anime, or video games, exploring various themes and genres, including explicit content.

Doujinshi operates in a legal gray area as it involves copyrighted characters and settings without official permission, but many creators and companies in Japan tolerate or even endorse it. These works are often bought and sold at events like “comiket” providing fans with a platform to share their love for specific franchises and engage with fellow enthusiasts.

The concept of doujinshi has also spread internationally, where fans create their own fan fiction and fan art inspired by their favorite series.

“Secret Class” Manga

Yep, this is the one my son was reading.

“Secret Class” is a South Korean manhwa (the Korean equivalent of manga) series written and illustrated by Minachan (Mina Jjang). It falls into the romance and adult genres and is known for its explicit content and mature themes.

The story revolves around a high school teacher who becomes involved in a secret romantic relationship with one of his students.

It contains adult and potentially controversial content and is clearly intended for mature audiences. It explores themes that may not be suitable for all readers, and access to this manhwa may be restricted to individuals of a certain age.

While hentai manga is primarily a printed medium, similar explicit content can also be found in other formats, including anime (animated films or TV series), adult video games, and written erotica. These various formats cater to different preferences and provide explicit content through different media like adult video games.

This particular one, you can typically find available for online reading on a variety of webtoon platforms and manga-reading websites. A commonly used platform for accessing webtoons is LINE Webtoon

Conclusion

As an adult myself, I can understand the hype about this kind of content as it is radically different to what is conventional and we are used to in the western world. I appreciate the professional artists and the art work involved too.

However, it is good to create awareness among us parents with teens who haven’t got a clue about this and get lost with Japanese words we don’t understand.

I hope that has been helpful.
