I love this new Halloween Wreath I made. It looks all classy with the orange shine and houndstooth ribbon and then you look closer and see the glittery spiders. Isn’t it wonderful?
Supplies:
3 orange Autumn garlands from Hobby Lobby
20” STYROFOAM™ Brand wreath
Floral Greening Pins
Krylon Glitter Blast Starry Night Spray paint
Krylon Glitter Blast Silver Flash Spray paint
Hot Glue Gun
Black and White Houndstooth Flannel fabric
plastic black spider rings
scissors
1. I found this shiny Halloween garland half off at Hobby Lobby. They were kinda pricey even for half off at $4.50 a garland but I really love the richness of the color and knew it would make a gorgeous wreath. I bought three of them.
2. I wrapped it around a 20” STYROFOAM™ Brand wreath securing it in the back with floral greening pins.
3. Next I separated all the black spider rings in the bag. Using scissors I removed the ring portion from the spider. Then I gave all the spiders a coat of Starry Night Glitter Blast spray paint. I followed that up with just a quick spritz of the Silver Flash Glitter Blast to give it a little silver sparkle and let it dry.
4. Then I just hot glued them on trying hard to be random onto the garland.
5. Next I ripped a length of black and white houndstooth fabric and wrapped it around the top of the wreath. Then I made a bow and hot glued it in place.
I tried photographing the wreath on the mirror I hung it on. This is the best picture I could get. You can see I also glued a couple of the spiders onto the mirror itself. I am in love with this wreath. I will show you the whole vignette in a couple of weeks.
What do you think of the classy creepiness?
