Guess who completely forgot about the most lovey-dovey day of the year? That’s right, your dear old mom! But don’t you worry, I’m not going to let a little thing like forgetfulness ruin our Valentine’s Day fun.
We’ll just have to get creative and come up with something super special on the fly. Let’s see, what do moms and kids do best? Oh, I know! We’ll make some awesomely ugly Valentine’s Day cards and eat way too much chocolate.
Sound good? …maybe not 🙁
I must admit I haven’t thought about it yet since i am knee deep into My Biggest Project ever. BUT…so happy that Jamie makes it easy for me. A quick print and you have a cute Valentines for the kids!
Wait what…?
Do parents give kids valentines gifts?
This is a personal choice and can vary from family to family. Some parents may opt for small tokens of affection such as candy or toys, while others might give bigger gifts such as a special outing or a piece of jewelry.
In the end, the gesture of giving a Valentine’s Day gift to a child is a way to show love and appreciation, and the gift itself is less important than the sentiment behind it.
I am not a fan of consumerism (as you know) so anything that cost nothing is a winner. So please welcome Jamie back with an adorable and creative FREE printable Valentines Day Card for you Kids.
“You wormed your way into my heart!”
If you’ve checked out C.R.A.F.T. lately, you know I heart cheesy Valentines! They’re so fun to think up, and I’m convinced you can turn anything/food item/tool (you get the point) into a clever little Valentine saying!
I love gummy worms, and decided to create a kid-friendly “You wormed your way into my heart!” Valentine, perfect for the classroom.
All you need is:
- Gummy worms
- Free printable {HERE}
- Clear plastic bags (I found mine in the jewelry section for $1.00)
- Stapler
- Black pen
- Scissors
Instructions:
Print out the free printable found above and use a black sharpie to doodle on some worms.
I think it would be fun to let the kids to it too.
If you want to get extra fancy, you could even color in your worms!
I filled each little bag with 2 gummi worms.
My bags were little. In retrospect, I think I would have spent the extra 50 cents and got the bigger bag size! Oh well!
Then, cut out each tag and staple the tag to the plastic bag full of worms. Voila. Easy peasy.
Super easy, cheesy, yummy, and perfectly portioned for classroom Valentines! Happy (almost) heart Day!
What should I write in my kids valentines day card?
This is going to be very personal and depends on the type of relationship you have with your kids. The type of ‘words’ or expressions you usually use, etc. The message you include can be as simple or as elaborate as you like.
Here are a few suggestions to get you started:
- Express your love: Start by telling your child how much you love them and how special they are to you.
- Share a memory: Recall a happy memory you share with your child and how grateful you are to have them in your life.
- Offer encouragement: Use the card as an opportunity to offer words of encouragement and support to your child. Let them know that you believe in them and are proud of their accomplishments.
- Be playful: If your child has a sense of humor, include a joke or a fun rhyme to bring a smile to their face.
- Be sincere: No matter what you choose to write, make sure your message is sincere and heartfelt. Children can often sense when a message is genuine, and they’ll appreciate the love and thought you put into their Valentine’s Day card.

Very cute.
Thanks, Cathie 🙂
I made these to put in our library’s staff mailboxes on V-Day. When I printed them, I made a second side to fold over the bag when I stapled it, and on the second side I added “Library Bookworms” with our library’s logo. Thanks for the great idea – I think they’ll really love it!
That’s a perfect addition! Thanks for sharing your idea, Robin!
