Do you remember this project?

That was the most aggressive project I have taken on in a long time. But when I took on this project I failed to notice the ginormous belly I was growing. So I called in the troops (actually begged and offered meals, cleaning, crafts, etc., to bribe them) to help me paint. Thank you Amy G, Amy A, April, Carmel, Rachel, and Candace, I owe you BIG TIME!

Doesn’t it look FABULOSO!?!? I love it, I love it, I love it!

I ended up buying that comforter and sheet set that matched pretty close to Isaac’s baby bedding at Target. We haven’t purchased the top bunk bed stuff yet. I am hoping it’ll go on sale soon.

Those two pillows on the bed (in front of the sham) are from his baby bedding set. I am actually pretty stoked at how close it matched.

I still have some touch up painting to do and three drawers from the desk that I hadn’t finished. But I was in a hurry to get these done (the weather is supposed to get cold here and I am not sure if we will have nice painting weather again).

Ok so do you think I need to repaint the bottom blue color on the wall? I am afraid it clashes. Truth be told, I don’t think I am that great with colors. HELP ME, what should I do?

  1. Amazing! I’m so glad you called in help. 🙂 I think it looks awesome.

And….I’m no help when it comes to colors….sorry 🙁

  2. I’m totally amazed. How cool! and to believe that you only paid $25. TOO cool and i’m jealous

  3. Wow that looks great! I love the color. It looks so much better than when we left and it only had one coat of paint.
Had a great time helping out.

  4. Beautiful – custom bed – what a lucky boy! I don’t know what to say about the color of the wall – pics and real life probably are a little different – I’m sure the whole room looks great as is – but you could try pulling another color from the bedding – I guess just give it some time and maybe something will come to you… it looks like a great boy bedroom!

  5. Looks so fabulous!

I’ll only recommend another color if you call in the troops again.

I’d do one of the browns on the wall.

  6. I still can’t believe you got that for only $25!

I’m insanely jealous, and it looks AWESOME

  7. Wow! It Looks fan-tab-ulous! :0

I do not think you need to paint the bottom of the wall a different color. I think it looks great the way it is!

To balance a room you need……
    1) Something dull
    2) Something bright
    3) Something dark
    4) Something light

That’s the general rule of thumb. You learned well, grasshoppa. 😉

  8. I love the bed. I definitely think that the blue needs changed. I would probably go with a chocolate brown to match the bedding. Any of the other colors in the bedding would be too much like a patchwork quilt look I think. I’ll look forward to seeing what you do. 🙂

  9. I’m so glad it turned out so cute! : ) I’m not sure about the wall color, would have to see it again in person. In the top two it looks fine, but not so much in the bottom photo.

    But the bed looks great!

  10. I’m a blog stalker–sorry I don’t comment more often : ). Great job on the bed–it’s fabulous! And I love the bedding. I think you definitely need to change the bottom wall color though. I agree with the previous posters that a brown would probably work the best–or possibly the light blue from the comforter. My kids would love a bed like that!

  11. Love, love, LOVE it!!! Our boys have this same bed set in oak, and mom paid a small fortune for it! What a find!!!

  12. Another super-cute (and super-ambitious) project! Love it. 🙂
