Monkey bread is a type of sweet, sticky, pull-apart pastry that’s often served as a breakfast or dessert dish.

The origin of the name “monkey bread” is unclear, but there are several theories. Some say that it’s named after the way that the small pieces of dough resemble a monkey’s paw, while others believe that it’s because the dish is so irresistible that people can’t resist tearing it apart with their hands, just like a monkey might.

Another theory is that the dish was created by a monkey in a baking competition, but this is a playful fiction (and really fun haha).
