DIY Vintage Crate Boot Rack

Boots, shoes, jackets, gloves, scarves, hats, etc.  All of the pain-in-the-butt winter gear you need if you live in an area with snow.  Unfortunately for me, I live in one of those areas.  I am constantly trying to come up with systems to keep our family’s winter needs organized.  Laura, the NY girl, has the same problem but probably double the amount of snow.  She came up with an adorable idea using vintage crates to create an area in her mudroom to collect all those winter accessories.

Farmhouse Bench with Weathered Gray Finish

Yesterday I showed you how to make some Pottery Barn Kids inspired oversized vintage flaschard art for our playroom.  Below that was a bench I made from The Handbuilt Home book by Ana White.    I saw the Farmhouse Bench on page 76 and knew it would be perfect to use as seating for our kitchen table and provide extra storage with the bottom shelf that would blend in seamlessly in our playroom.
