Sarah M. Dorsey Designs is back to show how to make a simple metal base for a table – using aluminum strips and rivets. This would be perfect to make a trunk or chest a little higher or if you have a top and need a simple base. For the past month or so I’ve been using my campaign chest as an end table in my living room. I loved the idea of it as a nightstand, but I prefer my nightstand about level with the mattress. Inspired by Pottery Barn’s Ludlow Trunk, adding a simple metal base, made it the perfect nightstand height!
I showed you Isaac’s new Lego Table I made from a 1980s parquet table this week. He adores it and has spent every waking moment up there since he received a bunch of new Lego sets for his birthday last week. Did you notice those adorable little Lego head bins? Nope I didn’t buy those.
I saw these adorable font art pieces at Uncommon Goods perfect for Mother’s Day. The artist is Patricia Carlin and she has all sorts of cool stuff on there. The ones I liked the best was the math equations showing the infinite love you have for your kiddos or grandkids. They are super simple to make using the online program Ipiccy.com and would be a quick gift for Mother’s Day this weekend. I also have a free printable to help you get started.
I fell in love with the simplicity of the felt scalloped wreath from Land of Nod. It’s neutral colors lend itself to match any décor and any season. However, I love that it kind of resembles a pine cone which makes it perfect for the fall season. I knew it would be easy to replicate for a fraction of the price.
I found this Love Tree Wall Art on Land of Nod. I have a friend having a baby girl and her nursery is midcentury modern with bright primary colors. I thought it be a cute shower gift to make her some modern art for the baby’s nursery. Using 7 different premium vinyl colors from Silhouette I was able to recreate this using my Silhouette Cameo.
