My DH and I are leaving on a cruise on Saturday without little man. Isaac will be spending some time with his grandparents next week. About three days before we leave I am always thinking, “Is this all worth it??” Packing myself up, packing Isaac up, making sure my house is clean, mail is stopped, driving Isaac 8 hours to his grandparents, traveling to our destination, spending money, etc. After about 10 hours of sleep in a row on the cruise ship I remember, “yes this is worth it!”

Tim and I spent 7 1/2 years together of just “us” before Isaac came along. We traveled a lot and we were very selfish with our time together. When Isaac came along we still held true to the fact that we wanted to create memories just the two of us as well as family memories. So every year we get away for a week without children. I am sure it will get more difficult with two to farm out. But I will always remind myself that it is worth it. We get to reconnect, laugh, play games, and just enjoy being a married couple. Some people think we are crazy for leaving our child behind. But he gets spoiled rotten by his grandparents and I am sure he will look forward to this week every year.

So hasta la vista baby! I will be out of the country and out of blogland for a while. Don’t have too much fun without me.
