So I made a decision!  Thank you all for your opinion about my color choices.  Whenever I ask my readers a question I always fail to give pertinent information.  Like… my bathroom ceilings are 8 feet and I have no natural lighting in my bathroom.  Oops!  Sorryboutthat! So I made the decision based on what a lot of you said.

Light ceilings…dark walls.  Wish me luck.  I have never painted a ceiling a different color.  But it is my bathroom and so it doesn’t seem as big of a risk.

So the wall color…Sonata in a Semi-Gloss Finish

sonata Ceiling and closet…Cumberland Fog in an Eggshell Finish

I painted it Cumberland Fog and hung two more wire shelves.  I hate how builders always seem to have this 3 foot gap from the top shelf and the ceiling.  We wanted to maximize the storage space in there so we added two more shelves — one at the bottom and one at the top. I already had all the shelving so it did not cost anything.IMG_1463It looks so clean and crisp.  I love the color.  In fact, I keep wavering on not just painting the entire room that color. I have never painted a closet before.  But since all the stuff was already out of there and it was a small closet I thought…why not?  Plus it makes me smile when I open the closet door… that has gotta count for something, right?

IMG_1466Labeled, in bins, organized and one whole shelf not in use???

I LOVES IT!!!

    God's blessings,
    Sarah 😀

  2. That looks so great! I never thought to paint a closet either but I think it is a wonderful idea!

  3. This is terrific!! I love the blue. It gives the closet beautiful depth and adding those 2 extra shelves was a definite bonus. I love how it looks!!

    Enjoy!!

  4. Love the color…..and whoop whoop for the organization, you know that makes me so proud!! Hehe (This won't let me comment under my blogger account…Lisa)

  5. I love that you painted it! I have always wanted to paint the insides of my closets, but I have never taken the time to do it! I just organized my linen closet. Who knew there could be so much joy in an organized closet?!

  6. Oooo–love the organization I see!!! I love before and after photos like this. 🙂

  7. BECKIE, great job on painting a space just for you… somewhere nobody else will see. seems to me that i drool over those kinds of personal, unimportant, and often overlooked yet LOVELY spaces the most. can't get enough of adorable laundry rooms, easy-on-the-eyes garages, and fab closets! of course your living room and kitchen are going to be presentable and well-decorated (we hope), but if you've got it together in the BATHROOM CLOSET then when you open that closet you can say, "I RAWK!" and do a happy dance!

  8. I, too, have never painted a closet but it'd be MAJOR props if it makes you smile just to open it! Bravo!

  9. I love the color choices and closets are my dreaded thing. Perhaps I should have all of my closets painted fun colors too.

  10. I have been going through a 'painting closets phase too' I'm really glad I'm not alone!
