This post brought to you by Air Wick. All opinions are 100% mine.

Are you a scent kind of person? Do you wear perfume, love candles and fragrant warmers?  Do you use scented plug-ins in your home? I remember being newly married and going over to one of my friend’s house who was further along in life and actually owned two cars and a house.  Meanwhile my husband and I were living on love, one car and about 20K a year.  But those lean years are some of the best, aren’t they?  Anyway back to my friend’s house.  Every time I entered her home it always smelled really good.  At first I assumed it was a candle but I never saw one burning.  Then I just always thought it was her cleaning products.  One day while we were house sitting I figured out her secret – plug in air fresheners.

I have used many over the years but my favorite are the oil ones.  Some of the other ones with a gel in it get all crusty looking but the oil just disappears after use and looks nicer, like the scented Airwick products.  Airwick sent me a bajillion of their scents to try out.  They were the super-sized pack that you can buy at Sam’s Club.

Speaking of Sam’s Club I just got a membership this year and have been loving it!  Back to. Airwick… some of those super sized packs are only available at Sam’s Club – like Bright Citrus Splash and Sparkling Sea Minerals.  And of course, if you buy it at Sam you are saving 38% over buying it at Wal-mart or other retailers.

I especially like to use them in a bathroom because it kind of masks all the other non-nice smells in there.  Plus it is a smaller space so it really packs a punch.

My favorite scent for the summer is Bright Citrus Splash.  It reminds me to a tropical vacation packed with fruit drinks and lot of pineapple.

So the other day my friend came over to pick up her son from my house and she entered and said “Wow your house smells so fresh.”  Ahhhh….success.

  1. I have these all over my home! I have two dogs (inside dogs) and am kinda freakish about NOT having my house smell like a dog because I have been to homes that as soon as you walk in the door, the smell of pets knocks your head off. I am constantly cleaning but am aware that sometimes you can still smell pets in the cleanest of homes. I’ve used plug-ins for years and almost every person who walks into my house comments on how clean and fresh it smells. They are a little expensive but is one of my guilty pleasures.
Question: How did you go about getting Airwick to send you all of the freebies? As many as I have purchased over the years, they should send me a free case or two!
By the way, I love your blog:-)

  2. Thanks, Gina. To answer your question, I guess it’s the power of being a blogger ;-). Companies send product and pay bloggers to review their stuff to try and get people interested in it. Since bloggers are real people and not an organization, the reviews can oftentimes (when you get an honest blogger) be more authentic.

  3. No, I don’t think so. I can’t see how they would start a fire unless there was a faulty outlet or something.
