This year I was in the patriotic mood and created several handmade decor items to create a gallery wall. I used 3M Command Strips to hang everything so it can be removed after the season. I love those things. If you are person that likes to change out art all the time those things are a lifesaver, leaving no marks on your walls. I buy the large ones and cut them in half to save a little money. To show my love for the USA here is my montage of red, white and blue.
The barnwood frames were picked up on my trip to D. Lawless Hardware and I think the are perfect for the Americana look.
The trio of ruffled wreaths add a little texture. All I did was use some chalkboard spray paint on a 1/4†piece of plywood cut to fit. Then I used the 3M Command Strips’ rel=nofollow target=_blank>3M Command Strips’ rel=nofollow target=_blank>3M Command strips to adhere the wreaths. Check out the full tutorial here.
The Pledge of Allegiance subway art I made last year and has been in one of my hallways all year. It reminds me of my childhood and standing each day with my hand over my heart reciting this mantra.
The God Bless America sign is made with a paint stick backdrop in one of the barnwood frames. The full tutorial and cut file for a Silhouette machine is detailed in my post.
Lastly the America the Beautiful sign was made by me at a blog conference, Snap, in 2013. It was a sponsored class from Poppy Seed Projects. It looks like the file and kit are still available here.
The gallery wall sits above the “abc chest†I got from La-Z-Boy for attending an event for them last fall. It is by far my most favorite, and most expensive pieces of furniture in my house.
Decorating above the chest has kind of become my mantel of sorts since I don’t have a mantel to decorate (my TV is over it) so the decor above it is always changing.
And now I am ready for one of my favorite holidays of the year. I love it because it involves summer, lots of yummy food and usually a large family reunion.
Let’s talk about where you got that awesome table
Yah, it’s my favorite piece in my whole house. LOVES! And would you believe I got it for free from a La-Z-Boy event??? You can read more about my experience here.
THESE ALL TURNED OUT GORGEOUS, BECKIE!!! you got some serious crafting/decorating skills! I like that they are not over-the-top themey holiday, these could work for everyday decor, AND serve the holiday season- great job!! and I LOVE those d. lawless frames!!!
Ah, Julie, you are too sweet! Aren’t those frames awesome? Perfect for the look I was going for with my gallery wall.
