This year, my patriotic spirit was in full swing, and I decided to create one of my favorite 4th of July decorations: a captivating gallery wall using handmade decor items.
The best part? I used 3M Command Strips to hang everything, ensuring easy removal after the season without leaving any marks on my walls. These innovative adhesive strips are a lifesaver, especially for those who enjoy changing their artwork frequently. To save some money, I purchased the large strips and cut them in half.
Now, let me share with you my heartfelt tribute to the USA through my vibrant red, white, and blue montage.
Captivating 4th of July Decorations
To achieve an authentic Americana style and look, I found the perfect barnwood frames during a visit to D. Lawless Hardware. Their rustic charm adds a touch of nostalgia to the overall display.
Eye-Catching Red, White, and Blue Decorations
Adding a delightful texture to the gallery wall is a trio of ruffled wreaths. Creating them was a breeze—all I needed was a 1/4″ piece of plywood coated with chalkboard spray paint, which perfectly fits the wreaths.
Utilizing 3M Command Strips, I easily affixed the wreaths to the wall. For a detailed tutorial, check out the complete guide here.
Cherished Pledge of Allegiance Subway Art
One of my favorite pieces on the gallery wall is the Pledge of Allegiance subway art. Crafted last year, it has adorned one of my hallways ever since. Each time I pass by, it evokes memories of my childhood, standing with my hand over my heart, reciting this meaningful mantra.
Inspiring God Bless America Sign Decor
Crafted using a paint stick backdrop within a barnwood frame, the “God Bless America” patriotic sign is a true showstopper. In my blog post, I’ve provided a comprehensive tutorial and a cut file for those using a Silhouette machine.
Timeless America the Beautiful Sign
The “America the Beautiful” sign holds a special place in my heart as it was a project I made at the 2013 Snap blog conference. Sponsored by Poppy Seed Projects, it still serves as a stunning focal point on the gallery wall. You can find the file and kit for creating this piece here.
Enhancing the Gallery Wall
Situated above the “abc chest” from La-Z-Boy, which I acquired after attending one of their events last fall, the gallery wall takes center stage. This beautiful furniture piece is both my favorite and most cherished item in my house, despite being a bit of a splurge.
Since I don’t have a mantel to decorate (as my TV occupies that space), I’ve turned the area above the chest into my personal mantel. This allows me to change the decor frequently, such as placing a gingham tablecloth, always keeping it fresh and captivating while adding a personal touch.
Embracing the Festivities
With my exquisite gallery wall complete, I’m now fully prepared to embrace one of my favorite holidays of the year—Independence Day!
It’s a celebration combining summer’s joys, delectable food, and often a heartwarming family reunion. I can’t wait to make lasting memories on this special occasion and throw a theme party filled with more 4th of July party decorations.
