Hey there, it’s Carmel from Our Fifth House and I’m excited to be back with a super simple and practically free project idea today. With summer now in full swing and yard sale season booming I thought this project was a great one to share with you all! I love a fast summer project……..and one that costs practically nothing is literally right up my alley. I recently finished decorating our newly screened-in deck, and while I was on the hunt for an inexpensive outdoor side table an idea popped in my head! Don’t you love it when that happens?!
This literally cost me nothing as I already had these items collecting dust in my garage (from yard sales past). It took about 10 minutes to throw together too – not counting the paint drying time.
I started by spray painting the planter and the tray.
Then once the paint was dry I sanded the planter and applied a light coat of stain only in places to give it a weathered look. Then once the stain was dry I used some strong glue (E6000) to attach the tray to the bottom of the planter. Easy peasy!
I love repurposing items that have previously been cluttering up my garage. ;) There are so many ways to change the look of this table too. I think wrapping it with rope would also be a really fun look for an outdoor space! With yard sales happening almost every weekend I’d bet you could find the supplies to recreate this look for practically nothing if you don’t already have them on hand.
