Hello sweet readers of Infarrantly Creative! Laura, of Finding Home, here once again to bring you a fun project idea. This time – I made a galvanized memo board out of a vintage window and brand new sheet of metal. My love for making something new out of something old is still in full swing.
I am on a t-shirt kick this week. Did you see the scarf and dress I made for Kayla already? I thought it would be fun to paint stripes on an old t-shirt (that got accidentally bleached – DOH!) and turn it into a ruffled striped skirt for my daughter. Now I did this project a couple of years ago and my daughter still wears the skirt. While is is almost ready to be passed down on the hand-me-down train I thought we could retake a look at it once more before that happens.
I am loving upcycling old t-shirts. T-shirt material is so forgiving and it usually doesn’t need extra prep for the edges not to fray. I was inspired by Cheri from I am Momma Hear Me Roar to try my sewing skills at using t-shirts to make a layered dress for Kayla. I must say once you get the hang of it you can’t stop making them. They are so fun and embellishing makes them each unique.
Laura is going to show you how she took an old door and made her own version of a beverage bar station. Laura can rock the doors. If you missed last month’s post she made a kitchen herb garden out of an old door. Check out today’s think outside the box door project.
