Piccadilly Earrings {Anthro-Knock-Off}

dangly drop earrings

I am a fan of jewelry.  Not dainty, fine, pretty jewelry.  But the big, gaudy, blingy kind.  When it comes to earrings, the longer the better.  And I adore dangly drop ones.  I fell in love with the $48 Piccadilly Chandelier Earrings from Anthropologie.  So when Michaels challenged me to ReCreate something I decided these pretty chandelier earrings would be just the right project.

Handmade Checkerboard

DSC_1706_thumb

My kids love Melissa & Doug Wooden Toys.  They are such high quality toys and we always seem to ask for them for gifts.  Each of the sets come with a wood crate that stores the set.  While I love the crates they really could use a top on them in order to make it into our playroom (I am not a fan of pieces everywhere). So what has happened over the years of receiving Melissa & Doug toys is we have amassed a collection of these wood crates.

How to Make Feather Earrings

feathers-earrings.png

lI have a thing for earrings…big earrings actually.  It is an inherent degenerative gene passed down from my mother.  All those times I heard my mom say “Where are your earrings?” before I left the house, has made me a believer that earrings are a must accessory.  Last year I got these really pretty purple feather earrings from Jewel Mint.

DIY Tissue Paper Wreath

tissue-paper-wreath.png

Birthdays can be expensive.  Finding cheap birthday decorations that are cute can often be challenging.  I created a wreath made out of the dollar store streamers and a STYROFOAM™ Brand Wreath.  The perfect part about this wreath is that you can remove the steamers after the party and use your wreath form again. Can you guess the theme of my daughter’s party by the colors of the wreath?  Bonus points for the those that are right.

How to Make a Bathroom Cabinet {Roadkill Rescue}

bathroom-cabinet-DIY.png

This was my last Roadkill Rescue challenge on Indy Style, the local lifestyle show I have been a pat of for the last 18 months.  Viewer Jennifer submitted this worn out cabinet/dresser combo she had taking up room in her garage for a year and a half.  So I literally took the entire thing apart and pretty much just used the wood to create a standing bathroom cabinet.

Duck Tape® Flower Belt Instructions

duck_tape_flower.png

Last year I showed you how to make felt flowers.  Using that same technique I made some flowers out of Duck Tape®.  Duck Tape® comes in an array of colors and patterns and they sent me some Christmas patterns/colors to use.  These are so easy and fun to make and you can add them to a purse, scarf, shirt, bag or a BELT!
