I am absolutely thrilled with how my DIY stained wood shim mirror turned out. I know there are a zillion tutorials out there for making mirrors like this. However, I think I am the only crazy one that sanded and stained 315 wood shims. That part was not for the weak of heart. Me-oh-my! But I love it, I love it, I love it and don’t regret the decision for one minute!
Hi, it is Rex here. The only dude contributor on Beckie’s site. I help Beckie out every once in a while when she gets in over her head with some DIY project that she has dreamed up. I also own a local Indianapolis carpentry business called Carpentry Plus.
Destiny is back with a simple side table she made with some items she had laying around the house. Those are the best kind of projects because that usually means free or very cheap. I love how she made a cute little side table out of a candlestick and an old tabletop, perfect for her quiet place away from the noise of life.
1980s parquet tables with glass insets run rampant on Craigslist. I scored one for cheap and transformed it into an amazing DIY Lego table for my son. The cool part is the baseplates are removable so you can move your Lego creations to another location.
I love finding news uses for items people normally throw away. Wood wine crates have endless possibilities for the DIYer. A little paint or stain and you have a new-to-you organization system. This month, Destiny from A Place for Us, decided to finally tackle that old wine crate in her garage and turn it into an art caddy for her kiddos.
Do you have big plans for Easter this weekend? I have family coming from Chicago and Michigan so my house should have lots of chaos, noise, fun in it! I hope you are excited as I am. Today I thought I would show you some of my past Easter projects.
If you have read my Sawdust Diary from last week you know I am coming terribly close to finishing the built-in cabinets in my new my studio with my DIY coach Sandra from Sawdust Girl. She has been so amazing coaching me through each step of the way, not without some snags of course.
