How to Make Glittered Chapstick

Yesterday I posted about a free printable you could use to dress up some Tic-Tacs for your New Year’s Eve party.  Do you want another favor gift for your New Year’s Eve party?  Well the girls from My Sister’s Suitcase help solve that problem with a little bling for the ladies.  Please welcome Nat & Holly.

With 2013 around the corner, we’re on the lookout for upcoming trends in fashion and home decor. One trend that doesn’t seem to be going away with the holidays is sparkle & shine. Sequins and glitter seem to be all the rage, from clothing to pillows, and even phone cases! Who wouldn’t want to add a little bling to their holiday party ensemble? Today I’m sharing a cute way to package up a little New Year’s Eve favor with some glittered chapstick tubes.

I transformed an everyday lip gloss into a giftable party favor.

Supplies:
your favorite chapstick or lip gloss
Glitter tape {we used Recollections brand from Michaels}
scissors
hot glue {optional}

I found this awesome glitter tape at Michaels {right now would be a great time to get it on sale!} I cut 2 pieces of tape long enough to wrap around the lip gloss, removed the backing paper and attached them. I needed one thinner piece at the bottom to cover the entire tube. That’s it! The tape is really sticky, but if you want to make sure it stays forever, add a few dabs of hot glue at the seams.

This is a simple idea, but the end result is an accessory any girl would love to have in their handbag!
