Have any of you wanted to pull out your hair, or the hair of your children, at the game boxes they thrash?
It seems like a lot of linens come in these little plastic zippered cases. I can never throw them away and have collected quite an assortment of them.
So I took out the cardboard packaging and used it as a template to cut out the Cootie Bug front and back cover…
I put the cardboard back in place and added a Ziploc bag inside to hold the tiny pieces and dice. Ahhhhh….much better. I no longer fret over thrashed boxes.
My goal is too do this with many of his boardgames. If only they made them tall and rectangular for Chutes & Ladders and Candyland.

That is a great idea. I usually use those to store linens that are not used often, storing childrens toys, games and blocks is something I hadn't though of. Jackie
Love it!!! I missed the par-tay yesterday…can't believe I missed your post…it did not show up in my reader…so weird.
Oh, well..have a wonderful day!
Blessings to you,

Smart! I have a few of those that I didn't know what to do with! I might use them for puzzles and such! Thanks.
That certainly gives new meaning to Linens & Things. That's probably the best innaugural WFMW post I've ever read!
OMG you just simplified my life. Thank you!
I use these little clear baggies for everything! In fact, my WFMW post shares how I use them for camping storage. Storing them for games is one thing I hadn't thought of yet! Welcome to your first WFMW!
Great idea! Have an awesome day!

Love this idea! Perfect!
Wow, what a great Idea! I have tons of those zippered plastic bags around the house that I can't seem to throw away either!
Very smart!
Bummer, my husband finally made me get rid of these b/c I hadn't used them . I guess I will start saving them again and I'll be ready when the boys start playing board games. Great tip!
I love this idea. My daughter isn't quite to the stage where she plays games yet, but we are getting close and I know I would be getting neurotic over the boxes. This seems like a much better alternative.
What a PERFECTLY great idea!! I keep the plastic ziploc bags like those too but had not thought of what exactly to do with them!! THANKS!
This is an awesome idea. Boy do I wish I had saved these little plastic containers over the years. Going to have to start to collect them again.
Love it! I use those plastic zipper bags when traveling so that I can grab a quick change of clothing if needed. International travel with a toddler that threw up 8 hours in to the flight taught me to be prepared. Love the game idea though now that we don't travel as much
That is brilliant!
Thats a great idea…. I'm kicking myself now for throwing all those bags away! phooey!
I HAVE pulled my hair out over this…I too need bigger, rectangular ones for candy land and chutes and ladders! B:)
Great idea! Thanks for sharing!

I have those exact bags in my van. I use them for books and groups of kid meal toys. I don't have to keep the good toys out there and if one "accidentally" gets tossed in a van clean out, oh well.
I love this idea!!! Off to check and see what zipper bags I have saved:)
hadn't thought of that one! I use them to hold each of my customers different projects (fabric, pattern, idea drawings, measurements etc.) and slip a label into the pocket – - that way no ones project gets confused with someone elses.
What a great idea. I have a drawer full of those bags.
I saw something similar in a magazine a few years ago. She used those sticky backed velcro dots and attached the game boards that were to big for the bag on to the wall. It made for some cute wall hangings and it got them off the floor.
Brilliant! I've just been using large ziploc bags and doing the same thing….ours are the puzzle boxes more than games……but I do always save those zipper bags!
You are such a smart mama! I'll be collecting those from now on.
What an awesome idea!!
Such a great idea and I just tossed the ones I had been saving to USE for something.
Thanks for your comment, Beckie! Hope you were able to plow through your own laundry mountain last week.
It was fun seeing all the projects!!! Thanks for hosting such a fun carnival!
Those bags are such wonderful organizers! Great idea! I used some of mine in a different way. I'll have to post it soon. Thanks!
That is a great idea, I am always bagging up puzzles and quilt projects- I love those bags!
I use those bags to store games too, but never thought to put a pic of the box in the pocket. Thanks!
That is so clever!! I'm definitely using that idea. My son's Hungry Hippo game won't fit back in the box when it's put together.
Love it!
I do something similar with heavy duty ziploc bags – but this is much better with the size and the zipper. Awesome. =)
This is a great idea! I always save those zippered bags too, and never know quite what to do with them! I will now put them to good use!!
Oh, this is such a fabulous idea…Thank you!
Ingenious idea! Much more indestructible. There is a lot of wasted space in game boxes too!
I use mesh zippered laundry to hold toy sets together. I have created several for work. I make a label on an index card and laminate with my laminator, attach to the zipper with a zip tie and put the bags in my organizing tubs.

oh wow, that's neat. I have never thought of that before. I'm gonna have to try that out. Great tip!
GREAT IDEA. I use these zip bags for some of my kids play sets never thought about using them for their games.
Wow, great ideas! I, too, have a major disdain with the construction of childrens game boxes. I love what you've done (in the other post with the lemonade can too).
Woohoo! I also save those zippered bags & will use them for my classroom games and puzzles. (but not for another month!)
