I am not really good at posting pictures while my projects are in progress. I much rather show you the finished product. But I decided to let you in the room early. I know you are excited!
Ok there is her name on the wall that I painted (via a transparency on a projector) and I painted horizontal stripes around the whole room. I got my inspiration from this room. I painted the stripes above eye level because I want to hang stuff on the wall like this and don’t want it to overlap the stripes. I still have quite a bit of touch-ups but you get the gist. You can see the ugly purple color at the top that the room was painted when we moved in. We are also hanging some crown molding which will cover that.
Next the crib… When we were preggers with Isaac and on a vacation one of my dearest friends brought her crib from her children over and had it all set up in his room. It was special for me to get to use her crib from her children since our families were so close. The honey color was great in Isaac’s room but I wanted white in Kayla’s room. But I couldn’t part with it so I am in process of painting it white and antiquing it. 3 sides done, one to go. If you click on the picture below you can see the bedskirt I made as well.
I sanded off some of the paint to show a little of the gold. I like the way it turned out. I also love the curves in the mirror. It totally picks up on the chocolate and pink damask fabric I used on the chair and the crest that Kayla’s name is in.
