Did you miss me? A week and no blog from me? Bad blogger Beckie.
We are officially on Christmas break. I am typing this in Chicago at my cousin and her fiance’s house. I worked Tim and myself like dogs last week. In one week we managed to move our entire house, unpack our entire house, paint 4 rooms, change two door locks, change 4 lights, have a “craft night” for the pastor’s wives, have overnight guests, knock over the court street light, and drive to Chicago. WOW! I need a nap just for typing that all out. This whole moving thing has definitely cramped my creative time. HA HA!
Well we love our new digs, can’t wait to have it all decorated the way we like it. I long for the day when it is no longer a project but a place of refuge for my family. Someday soon I hope. But we are grateful to God for our new house, a sense of safety and security, and a place to put down some roots.
Did you catch that I knocked over the street light? WHAT AN IDIOT! I felt so stupid. Here I haven’t met any of our neighbors yet and I send the street light crashing down into the court. This is the story. We have a three-car garage. But our driveway narrows into a two-car driveway towards the front of the driveway. Well I come plowing out of the third car garage and didn’t take into account the narrowing of the driveway. Did I mention I was on the phone with Eightcrazy? So maybe I can blame some of it on her . So I ran into it, jacked up my bumper pretty bad, and literally the street light crashed into the court. The light was still on after it fell over so Tim unscrewed the light bulb. I called the Greenwood po-po to confess and now I await my homeowner association’s wrath. You would have thought I was going 50 miles an hour at the way it cracked in half. Mind you it is like a plexiglas of some type but still. Good thing it wasn’t real metal or I would not have a car anymore.
Well it is my favorite time of the year. I had set a goal of getting all my shopping done before Dec 1st. I wasn’t a 100% but I did have about 90% done. So that definitely helped me be able to focus on moving. Just an FYI…I don’t recommend moving 11 days before Christmas.
