So last night I did the surburban housewife thang….I went and played Bunco. You all know how I love games but Bunco just doesn’t do it for me. I think because there is more luck involved in the game and not strategy. (Yes I did lose, in case you are wondering –maybe that is why I dont like Bunco But since I have no social life I figured I better get to know some people. All the women were from the church and very friendly. Plus I got to nibble on peanut M & M’s and Reese’s Pieces.
Ok so I know I said I wouldn’t go look at any houses until October 1st because our house hasn’t sold in Washington and I wanted to enjoy the blessing of living rent-free in the parsonage but I can’t help myself. Tim and I have been looking at HUD houses (government repos) and found a screaming deal. It is 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, 2005 square feet, in a subdivision, postage stamp size lot for $80,000. Ok so all you Pacific Northwesterners are greeny with envy right now. (hey I didn’t tell you to live in one of the most expensive areas in America, come move!). Our house in Washington was a HUD house (but then we burned it down and built on top of it) so we are familiar with the process. We decided we wanted to live in a subdivision for a few reasons. #1 We want Isaac to have friends nearby and don’t want to drive him all over #2 We want neighbors that we can share Christ with. #3 Since I am a suburban housewife I want to have bunco parties…just kidding about #3. But then I drive past houses in the country and I am like, “Oh Tim wouldn’t it be cool to live there?” I don’t know, but we are going to try the subdivision thang. I mean we can always stay for two years and move. Since we have moved 10 times in the 9 years we have been married what is another? So we are going to go look at the house in a couple of hours. It may not even materialize but for $80,000 I had to take a gander. Hugs!
