A Labor of Love

Well I gave birth today…to a 100 lb dresser. Well at least it felt that way. I felt like I have carried that thing for 9 months and I am finally done. I swear the dresser alone probably took me 15 hours. But my mother constantly reminds me of the amazing workmanship of the dresser. So she will be delighted to know I have taken such care of it. I had this in my bedroom growing up. AND IT IS REDONE and gorgeous if I do say so myself. It looks brand spanking new. You would have never guessed it is from the 70s. The pictures really don’t do it justice but that is the best I got.
And I am officially getting a social life. I have been hanging out with new girlfriends every day this week. So my projects may have to be put on hold. But I did start my bedframe. It has 6 drawers on each side. It did not come with the set and is a different wood so I hope it looks okay once it is done. But here she is…isn’t she a beaut?

  3. Looks amazing! what do you find is the easiest way to sand the tiny cranies, like the detail work on the dresser?

  4. turned out beautiful!!!

We just bought a bed room set yesterday… it has a few nicks and scratches but i should be able to refinish it again in a few years when it gets really bad since it is high quality… that's the key!

Hope you are enjoying your 'new' dresser!
